Where do these events come from?

Events are collected from official municipal calendars, park district schedules, library programs, and community organization websites. We aggregate them into a single calendar so you can see everything happening in one place.

How far in advance are events listed?

Most events appear as soon as the organizing body publishes them, which can range from a few days to several months in advance. Recurring events like farmers markets or library programs are typically posted at the start of each season.

Can I submit an event to be listed?

Currently, events are pulled automatically from official municipal sources. Community-submitted events are not yet supported, but we are working on adding that feature.

Sister Cities Presents "Monet Lives"

"Monet Lives" is an intimate portrayal of Claude Monet as if he came back to life and told stories of his struggles, obsessions, and triumphs - along with his personal takes on the other Impressionists and what life was like in the booming Paris of 1860, as presented by Jim Parks.  A luncheon will follow the program and includes Chilled Cream of Asparagus Soup; Creamed Chicken will Vegetables in a Sherry Cream Sauce, served in a Flaky Bouchon Shell; Croissants with Whipped Cinnamon Honey Butter; and Praline Pastry Cream Tartlet.  Tickets are $25 each with reservations required. Public Works Open House & Pumpkin Smash

This free, family-friendly event features snowplow rides, touch-a-truck displays, and hands-on exhibits showcasing Public Works vehicles and equipment – including loaders, excavators, and aerial lifts. Enjoy light refreshments, giveaways, and raffle prizes, while supplies last. Bring old pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns (decorations and candles removed) to participate in the Pumpkin Smash composting event, a fun way to support the Village’s sustainability goals! Electronic Recycling ends at Village Hall

The Village of Hoffman Estates and its partner, the  Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC) , offer a seasonal drop-off for large electronic items which runs each year from April through November. This free drop-off service is available to members of SWANCC (proof of residency required). Click here to learn about items accepted.   Today is the last day to use this free drop-off service until it begins again in April 2027.   Collection may be closed due to severe weather.

Holiday Light Recycling Begins

The Village of Hoffman Estates and its partner, Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC), offer free recycling of holiday string lighting and extension cords.
