Where do these events come from?

Events are collected from official municipal calendars, park district schedules, library programs, and community organization websites. We aggregate them into a single calendar so you can see everything happening in one place.

How far in advance are events listed?

Most events appear as soon as the organizing body publishes them, which can range from a few days to several months in advance. Recurring events like farmers markets or library programs are typically posted at the start of each season.

Can I submit an event to be listed?

Currently, events are pulled automatically from official municipal sources. Community-submitted events are not yet supported, but we are working on adding that feature.

Shred Day & I-Cash Event

Please join State Representative Larry Walsh Jr., Treasurer Michael Frerichs, and Shorewood Mayor 'CC' DeBold for their Shred Day & I-Cash event. This event is free and open to the public. There is a 2-box maximum, residential shredding only until the truck is full. Boxes or containers must be in the trunk or backseat for distribution. Boxes can not be left at the event. Find out if you have any unclaimed property/funds by visiting the Illinois Treasurer I-Cash booth. No appointment is necessary. Annual Plant Swap

Date : Sunday, May 17th, 2026 Location:  Troy Township Office Parking Lot (25448 W. Seil Rd, Shorewood, IL) Time:  12 pm-2 pm  Join us for our 4th annual plant swap. Bring your plants, cuttings, seeds, or plant accessories to share with others and make new plant friends! The plant swap is free to all residents of the Village of Shorewood, City of Joliet, and Troy Township.  Plant Swap Rules ABSOLUTELY NO SELLING WILL BE ALLOWED. Everyone must have at least one plant, cutting, seeds (no commercial packets), plant accessory (example: macrame hangers, plant stands, decorative pots, non-disposable) to trade. All indoor and outdoor varieties are welcome. All plant items must be in individual pots, containers of water, or have their roots/lower stems wrapped in moist paper towels. Try to label your plants and include care instructions, if possible. Plant items must be pest-free and healthy. All swaps must be agreed to BY BOTH PARTIES. DO NOT grab plants without express permission from the owner. Swap yes, Swipe, no. Use the Honor System to ensure swaps are balanced and respectful.  Be mindful of swapping equal amount of plants. No Commercial Landscapers & Swapping. Bring a cardboard box, wagon, cart, or other means for carrying your trades around. We will have a freebie table if you'd like to drop off any plants without needing a trade. Limited space will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Kids are welcome. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash. If cancelled due to rain - swap date will move to Sunday, 31st from 12 pm - 2 pm.

Party in the Park

Date:  Thursdays in June & July Time:  6:30 pm Location:  Towne Center Park, One Towne Center Blvd., Shorewood, IL It's officially Shorewood Summer! Grab your lawn chairs, picnic blankets, and coolers for a Party in the Park at Towne Center. Every Thursday in June and July (excluding July 2, 2026), from 6:30-9:00 p.m., will feature a band or movie for residents to enjoy at the amphitheater. Food trucks and Shorewood Artisan Market vendors will also be joining the fun, providing food and shopping options for all attendees. A band lineup will be released at the start of summer. Boat Regatta Bash

Join us for Cardboard Boat Races, followed by Live Music at Towne Center Park. There will also be a kids' water slide and foam party, food trucks, and a bags tournament!  Cardboard Boat Races - 4 pm Boats must be made entirely from Cardboard and Duct Tape. Families, Neighborhoods, Businesses, and Non-profit groups encouraged to enter and sail away with prizes and glory! 2026 Crossroads Fest Parade - Party Like It's 1776!

Please visit the website or get in touch with the  Plainfield Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce  with any questions Sunday, August 2nd, 2026 Parade Theme:   Party Like It's 1776 This year's theme "Party Like It's 1776" will certainly bring creativity with the entries! History will meet hometown pride as we celebrate America's 250th birthday! Join us Sunday, August 2nd, 2026, to showcase and promote your business and community involvement. The route of the parade remains the same this as the years prior. The parade route remains the same as last year. The parade will begin on Geneva St at Ravinia Dr, travel west on Geneva, and turn South on S River Road. The parade will then turn West on Seil Road and end at the intersection of Seil and Wynstone Drive. Roadblocks will be up from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Family Campout

Bring your tent, sleeping bag, camp essentials, and s'mores sticks (if you have them). A hot dog dinner with chips and water is included along with breakfast and s'mores. Each family will be assigned a campsite with enough room for their tents and activities. Enjoy family time under the stars with a camping experience at Shorewood Park!
