Junior Park Ranger Adventure Presents: Birds

Join the Carson City Park Rangers to learn more about the exciting world of our feathered friends that live in Carson City! Jr. Ranger’s will spread their wings to learn about the four S’s of birding – shape, size, sound and surrounding. There will be about a half mile stroll around Mills Park as we use binoculars to identify different species. We will have limited supply of binoculars, so please bring your own if you can. We will meet at the Mills Park Amphitheater located on the Seely Loop side of the park. Make sure to dress for the weather, bring plenty of water, and come with an excitement for birds! Date: Saturday, April 25, 2026 Time: 10:30am-12:00pm Location: Mills Park Amphitheater Need to Know: – Minors under 18 must be accompanies by an adult – Dogs are allowed on leash – Online registration is required – If you or a family member needs it, Park Rangers have one Grit Freedom all-terrain wheelchair available. Carson City Symphony “Adventures in Music” Concert

The Carson City Symphony, conducted by Music Director David Bugli, will present “Adventures in Music” on Sunday, April 26, at 4:00 p.m., at the Carson City Community Center’s Bob Boldrick Theater, 851 E. William Street in Carson City.   The program opens with Rossini’s Barber of Seville Overture. Guest soloist Natalie Brooke Higgins will play Reinhold Glière’s Concerto for Horn, Op. 91, with the orchestra. The concert also includes Steven Rosenhaus’s Nevada Bagatelles and three movements from Robert W. Smith’s Symphony No. 2 (The Odyssey).   Tickets are $18 general admission; $15 for seniors, students, and Symphony Association members; and free for youth age 18 and under. Tickets are on sale online at CCSymphony.com or at the door. “Flex” tickets at discounted prices are also available at CCSymphony.com. During the week before the concert (April 18 through 25), blood donors at Vitalant–Carson City may receive a complimentary ticket to the concert.   Pre-show entertainment by Naomi Adams, cello, and Wendy Whyman, keyboard, begins at 3:00 p.m. in the lobby. A concert preview with conductor David Bugli and soloist Natalie Higgins begins at 3:15 p.m. in the Bob Crowell Board Room.   Carson City Symphony is a community orchestra of about 60 players who perform music from the 15th to the 21st centuries.
