Events are collected from official municipal calendars, park district schedules, library programs, and community organization websites. We aggregate them into a single calendar so you can see everything happening in one place.

How far in advance are events listed?

Most events appear as soon as the organizing body publishes them, which can range from a few days to several months in advance. Recurring events like farmers markets or library programs are typically posted at the start of each season.

Can I submit an event to be listed?

Currently, events are pulled automatically from official municipal sources. Community-submitted events are not yet supported, but we are working on adding that feature.

Volunteer Opportunity: Earth Day Work Party at Squalicum Creek Re-Route

Celebrate Earth Day alongside more than 1 billion people worldwide by joining the City of Bellingham and other community partners for our annual Earth Day Community Work Party on Saturday, April 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Together, we will remove invasive species to improve fish and wildlife habitat and help water quality near the Squalicum Creek Re-Route Project. This important ecological restoration project was constructed in 2021 to benefit salmon and other native species. Earth Day Recycling Event

Clear your clutter and reduce your environmental impact for Earth Day! The City of Bellingham is partnering with Sanitary Service Company (SSC), Recycling & Disposal Services Inc. (RDS), 1PC, Bellingham Covenant Church, and Whatcom County Health and Community Services to host a free recycling event. Stop by the parking lot of Bellingham Covenant Church any time between noon and 3 p.m. to drop off your hard-to-recycle items for donation and recycling. What to bring: Up to three grocery bags (or 2 banker boxes) of sensitive documents to be shredded in SSC’s shredder truck at the event and then recycled. No need to remove staples, paper clips, or notebook spirals. Ringed binders, CDs, and DVDs can not be shredded. (Shredded paper can’t typically be recycled through residential recycling services in Bellingham). Old TVs, computer monitors, desktop computers, laptops, tablets, e-readers, and portable DVD players to be refurbished or recycled Note: Data on the devices that are refurbished or recycled will be destroyed (more info here) Single-use batteries (such as alkaline): AA, AAA, 9V, C, D, and button cells Lithium primary Rechargeable batteries: Lithium ion (Li-Ion) Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd) Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) Nickel Zinc (Ni-Zn) Small Sealed Lead Acid (SSLA/Pb) Used athletic shoes and sneakers in any size or condition. Padden Creek Fish Passage Tour

Join project experts at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 25 to learn about the City’s recently completed Padden Creek Fish Passage Project. We will walk along the Interurban Trail and check out the two new fish-friendly culverts together, learning about project construction and the fish of Padden Creek that benefit from the project. Our project biologist and engineer will be there to answer your questions. This event will include walking on uneven ground. Location The tour will start at the parking lot of the Interurban Trail Rotary Trailhead where limited parking is available. Additional parking is available nearby on Clementine Street. Celebrate Trails Day This event is one of several offered as part of Recreation Northwest’s Celebrate Trails Day. Learn about new rental regulations and protections

Having a hard time keeping up with all of the changes to rental regulations? We’re here to help! Join us for a free event on April 28 at 3:30 p.m. in Bellingham City Council Chambers to learn about new rental regulations and to get your questions answered. City staff will be joined by local support organizations – WWU’s Off Campus Living, Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center and others – to tell you what you need to know about new rental laws and answer your questions. The educational session will cover new local ordinances related to renting, state rent stabilization laws, and Fair Housing requirements – including the top reported fair housing complaint in Whatcom County, which is discrimination based on disability. The local support organizations for landlords and tenants will be tabling and sharing resources. This event is the second of two we are hosting this April in recognition of Fair Housing Month. Procession of the Species: Summer 2026

Once again we’re teaming up with Gabriel’s Art Kids on the Procession of the Species parade and festival bringing color, creativity, and fun to downtown Bellingham. Water Treatment Plant Tour

In celebration of National Public Works Week, join us to learn more about where your drinking water comes from and how it’s treated. The City’s Water Treatment Plant, located near Whatcom Falls Park, takes water from Lake Whatcom, filters and treats it, and distributes it throughout the City. Tours of the Water Treatment Plant run approximately one hour long. Attendees must be 8 years or older. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early. Tour groups must start and end the tour together. It is not possible to leave early because participants must remain with the group leader while on plant grounds. Participants must be able to walk approximately 1 mile and travel up and down stairs.
