Hoffman Estates is a village in Cook and Kane counties with a population of about 51,186. Incorporated in 1959 after developers Sam and Jack Hoffman built a subdivision on former farmland, it later became the headquarters of Sears, Roebuck and Company when the retailer relocated from the Sears Tower in 1993.
