Carpentersville is a village along the Fox River in Kane County, about 40 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. With a population of about 37,500, it is governed by a Village President and Board of Trustees under a council-manager form of government. Founded in 1837 by the Carpenter family and incorporated in 1887, the village is served by Community Unit School District 300.
